Johan Hill

Johan is a Wellcome Trust student on the cellular structural biology programme. He works on the structural studies of parts of the Calnexin cycle, all of which are potential antiviral targets. Using X-ray crystallography, the structure of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) alpha Glucosidase I is being solved. His other main target is the ER-UDPase, which works with the folding sensor of the Calnexin cycle, known as UGGT, to ensure glycoprotein folding in the ER may continue.
