Anu V Chandran

Anu joined the Zitzmann lab in 2018 as a postdoctoral fellow. She worked with other members of the group to understand the structure and function of proteins involved in the calnexin cycle as part of an effort to develop a human targeted antiviral. She was also involved in a project on understanding the biology of UDP-glucose uptake from the cytoplasm to the ER.

Anu did her PhD at the Molecular Biophysics Unit (Indian Institute of Science) during which she worked on the structural studies of proteins involved in DNA recombination and repair. She then worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Professor Jason Schnell’s lab in the department where she was involved in understanding ER shaping using a membrane protein from yeast as a model.
